The over/under for the Panthers is 10 wins. The Panthers are currently 8-1 to win the Super Bowl and 13-3 to win the NFC.
My suggestion here is to stay away from the win total, I project them to win 10 games. I would be more interested in betting the Panthers to win the NFC. I think you get a little better odds than if you pick them to win the Super Bowl, plus you have to win one less game to win your bet.
The Carolina Panthers got totally out-played tonight, but still won the game somehow….19-10. Rookie RB D’Angelo Williams willed the team to win. Williams rushed for 41 yards on 9 carries (4.6 ypc) and returned a kick-off 98 yards for a TD.
Jake Delhomme only completed 6 of 15 passes for 58 yards. Chris Weinke completed 3 of 7 passes for 31 yards. The Panthers only had 145 total yards against the Dolphins defense on Thursday night.Â
The Panthers defense played well against the run, holding the Dolphins to 70 yards on 25 carries (2.8 ypc). The Dolphins completed 29 of 44 passes for a net of 253 yards against the Panthers.
The Panthers offense is looking real weak so far in the pre-season. The Panthers are rushing for 99.0 yards per game and averaging 4.2 yards per carry. The Panthers are only averaging 150.5 yards through the air, but have completed 61.1% of their passes.
The Panthers are looking rock solid on defense. The Panthers are allowing 98.0 yards per game rushing, but only 3.6 yards per carry. The pass defense is only allowing 164.0 yards per game, but allowing a 59.7% completion rate.
The Panthers looked very workmanlike in beating the Jags on Saturday. Nothing special, just a hard-fought defensive game, which has been a specialty for the Panthers the last few seasons. Jake Delhomme completed 10 of 18 passes for 129 yards. Jamal Robertson rushed twice for 29 yards as he battles to make the team. Nick Goings had a good game, rushing 3 times for 22 yards and also recovered a blocked punt in the end zone for a TD. Keyshawn Johnson caught 3 passes for 38 yards and Drew Carter caught 3 for 35 yards.Â
The defense played well holding the Jaguars to 95 yards rushing on 29 carries. The Jaguars completed 21 of 34 passes for a net of 191 yards passing. Defensive lineman Mike Rucker returned a fumble 31 yards for a TD.
