The Panthers just couldn’t finish the Bengals off, and in the end…..the Bengals prevailed.  Jake Delhomme completed 20 of 34 passes for 238 yards with 2 TDs and an INT.  RB DeShaun Foster carried the ball 14 times for 59 ards (4.2 ypc).  WR Steve Smith caught 8 passes for 126 yards, but he dropped a couple passes that he should have caught.  Keyshawn Johnson caught 4 passes for 41 yards.  Nick Goings and Kris Mangum each caught a TD pass.

The defense just couldn’t get off the field in the second half.  The Bengals ran the ball 30 times for 112 yards (3.7 ypc).  The Bengals completed 23 of 39 passes for 230 net yards passing.

The Panthers should have won this football game.
