Panthers deep at running back
The Panthers are very deep at running back, but then need someone to step up and be the main man. DeShaun Foster was supposed to be that guy, but he’s very injury-prone. Last season he played in 14 games and carried the ball 227 times for 897 yards (4.0 ypc) with 3 TD runs. He also caught 32 passes for 159 yards (5.0 avg). For his career, Foster has played in 47 games (24 starts) and he’s carried the ball 604 times for 2,460 yards (4.1 ypc) with 7 TD runs. He also has caught 101 passes for 814 yards (8.1 avg) with 3 TD catches.
Rookie DeAngelo Williams flashed alot of skills when he was healthy. He played in 13 games and carried the ball 121 times for 501 yards (4.1 ypc) with 1 TD run. He also caught 33 passes for 313 yards (9.5 avg) with 1 TD catch.
Veteran fullback Brad Hoover played in every game last season and carried the ball 22 times for 73 yards (3.3 ypc) with 1 TD. He also caught 20 passes for 122 yards (6.1 avg). For his career, Hoover has played in 109 games (66 starts) and he’s carried the ball 243 times for 852 yards (3.5 ypc) with 2 TD runs.  He also has caught 125 passes for 926 yards (7.4 avg) with 5 TD grabs.
Nick Goings didn’t get much of a chance to do much last season. He played in 11 games and carried the ball 11 times for 52 yards (4.7 ypc). He also caught 10 passes for 107 yards (10.7 avg) with 1 TD catch. For his career, Goings has played in 85 games (13 starts) and he’s carried the ball 391 times for 1,460 yards (3.7 ypc) with 6 TD runs. He also has caught 107 passes for 879 yards (8.2 avg) with 3 TD grabs.
Eric Shelton played in 9 games and didn’t do much. He carried the ball 8 times for 23 yards (2.9 ypc). He also caught 1 pass for 6 yards.
