The Carolina Panthers lose Jake Delhomme to injury

The Panthers will likely be without Jake Delhomme for a while with a right elbow injury.  That is a shame as Delhomme has really been outstanding this season for the Panthers.  Delhomme has completed 55 of 86 passes (64%) for 626 yards with 8 TD passes and 1 interception (111.9 QB Rating).  He also has carried the ball 6 times for 26 yards (4.3 ypc).  The Panthers are lucky that they signed David Carr in the off-season as he will now get to start for a little while until Delhomme gets healthy.  Carr completed 3 of 4 passes (75%) for 56 yards with 0 TDs and 0 INTs (116.7 QB Rating) in relief of Delhomme against the Falcons last Sunday.  Look for the Panthers to keep firing on most of their cylinders on offense with Carr at QB.
