The Carolina Panthers will use the bye week to determine who will start at QB
It will be interesting to see how quick David Carr’s back heals after he watched the ancient Vinny Testaverde lead the team to a big victory last week over the Cardinals in Arizona. Carr has completed 32 of 62 passes (51.6%) for 330 yards with 2 TD passes and 2 INTs (64.6 QB Rating) so far this season. He has been holding the ball way too long as evidenced by the 5 sacks he’s already taken this season. Vinny Testaverde was somewhat sharp in his first game as he completed 20 of 33 passes (60.6%) for 206 yards with 1 TD pass and 0 INTs (88.7 QB Rating). His TD pass was a bomb to Steve Smith which showed off his arm strength. I would think the Panthers would start Carr against the Colts when they return from the bye week but I think he will have a short leash with Testaverde waiting in the wings.
