The Panthers looked pathetic yesterday as they didn’t even score until there was only 23 seconds left in the football game.  David Carr looked awful as he completed 19 of 41 passes for 155 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT.  He also carried the ball 5 times for 28 yards (5.6 ypc).  DeShaun Foster carried the football 15 times for 64 yards (4.3 ypc) and he also caught 3 passes for 17 yards (5.7 avg).  DeAngelo Williams only carried the ball 2 times for 5 yards (2.5 ypc) but he also caught 3 passes for 37 yards (12.3 avg) with a TD grab.  WR Steve Smith was bottled up the whole game for the Panthers as he only caught 5 passes for 32 yards (6.4 avg).  The Panthers finished up with 99 yards rushing on 23 carries (4.3 ypc) and they completed 19 of 41 passes for 137 yards.

The defense was led by rookie linebacker Jon Beason who led the team with 10 tackles.  But the defense as a whole was pretty bad for the Panthers who allowed the Bucs to rush for 189 yards on 42 carries (4.5 ypc).  The Bucs also completed 15 of 25 passes for 176 yards.
