The Panthers finished up the season on a nice note as they beat pretty much the Bucs second team as they were resting up for the playoffs.  Matt Moore had a solid game for the Panthers as he completed 15 of 24 passes for 174 yards with 2 TD passes and 1 interception.  The Panthers finally took my advice and fed DeAngelo Williams the football and he was outstanding.  Williams carried the football 20 times for 121 yards (6.1 ypc) with 2 TD runs.  DeShaun Foster also got some work in as he carried the football 11 times for 46 yards (4.2 ypc).  Steve Smith (5 rec, 48 yards) and rookie TE Dante Rosario (3 rec, 36 yards, TD) both had decent games receiving.  The Panthers finished with 180 yards rushing on 37 carries (4.9 ypc) and they also completed 15 of 24 passes for 169 yards.

Linebacker Jon Beason (10 tackles) and CB Richard Marshall (9 tackles, sack, interception) led the way for the Panthers defense.  The Bucs finished up with 107 yards rushing on 26 carries (4.1 ypc) and they also completed 21 of 28 passes for 196 yards.

The Panthers only had possession of the football for 21 minutes in this game and it hurt them bad in this game.  Matt Moore completed 15 of 28 passes for 182 yards with 1 TD pass and 1 interception.  DeAngelo Williams ran well when the gave him the ball as he rushed for 60 yards on 10 carries (6.0 ypc).  Steve Smith had his best game in a long, long time as he caught 9 passes for 137 yards (15.2 avg) with a TD grab.  The Panthers finished up with 69 yards rushing on 14 carries (4.9 ypc) and they also completed 15 of 28 passes for 147 yards.

LB Jon Beason (12 tackles) and CB Richard Marshall (11 tackles) led the way for the Panthers Defense.  The Cowboys finished up with 148 yards on 37 carries (4.0 ypc) and they also completed 28 of 42 passes for 257 yards.

Carolina Panthers 13, Seattle Seahawks 10

The Panthers came up big in the 4th quarter when they scored all 13 of their points to win the game yesterday.  Undrafted rookie Matt Moore started the game for the Panthers and he was efficient as he completed 19 of 27 passes for 208 yards.  The Panthers kept the ball on the ground for the most part in this game as they held onto the football for 35:22 of this game.  DeAngelo Williams carried the ball 15 times for 61 yards (4.1 ypc) with a TD run.  DeShaun Foster however had a tough time as he carried the ball 18 times for 47 yards (2.6 ypc).  Steve Smith led all receivers on the Panthers with 8 catches for 72 yards (9.0 avg).  The Panthers finished up with 114 yards rushing on 38 carries (3.0 ypc) and they also completed 19 of 27 passes for 208 yards.

The Panthers defense played really well and they were led by Ken Lucas and Jon Beason who had 8 tackles apiece.  The Seahawks finished with 44 yards rushing on 14 carries (3.1 ypc) and they also completed 27 of 41 passes for 238 yards.

Carolina Panthers vs. Seattle Seahawks

This football game will pit one of the hotter teams in the NFL (Seattle Seahawks) against one of the colder teams in the NFL (Carolina Panthers).  The Seahawks have won 5 games in a row in which they have outscored the opposition 148-87!  The Panthers have only one 1 of their last seven games and they have been outscored 184-87 in those games!

The Seahawks shouldn’t have much problem moving up and down the field against a Panthers Defense that doesn’t have many playmakers on it.  The Seahawks will probably pass first to try to get a lead and then grind it out on the ground.  Matt Hasselbeck should have no problem throwing the ball with success against a Panthers Defense that is allowing 210.4 yards per game.

With Matt Moore likely to start this game the Panthers will likely run the ball at least 60% of the time.   DeShaun Foster and DeAngelo Williams should find running room against a Seahawks Defense that is allowing 100.0 yards rushing per game and 4.0 yards per carry.  Moore will have to be careful throwing the ball against a defense that already has 20 interceptions and 41 sacks.

PREDICTION:  SEATTLE SEAHAWKS 27,  CAROLINA PANTHERS 10

Jacksonville Jaguars 37, Carolina Panthers 6

The Panthers didn’t even show up in Jacksonville yesterday and they got punished as they have now fallen to 5-8 on the season.  Vinny Testaverde looked his age yesterday as he completed 13 of 28 passes for 84 yards including an interception that was returned for a TD by linebacker Clint Ingram of the Jags.  Matt Moore replaced Testaverde in the game and he completed 3 of 10 passes for 21 yards.  DeShaun Foster had a so-so game as he carried the ball 11 times for 46 yards (4.2 ypc).  Steve Smith led the way in the passing game for the Panthers with 6 catches for 44 yards (7.3 avg).  The Panthers finished up with 50 yards rushing on 15 carries (3.3 ypc) and they also completed 16 of 38 passes for 99 yards.

The Panthers defense was led by safety Chris Harris (14 tackles) and linebacker Jon Beason (12 tackles) yesterday.  The Jaguars finished up with 178 yards rushing on 38 carries (4.7 ypc) and they also completed 21 of 37 passes for 249 yards.
