The Carolina Panthers have claimed 26-year old offensive tackle Charles Spencer off waivers from the Houston Texans.  Spencer is a mountain of a man at 6’5″, 351 pounds so the Panthers decided to give him another chance at the NFL.  He missed all of last season due to injury and he has only played in 2 games (0 starts) in his NFL career to date.  This was a nice low risk/high reward pickup for the Panthers.

UPDATE:  The Panthers have released Charles Spencer already as he didn’t appear healthy.  He will be no loss as the Panthers weren’t expecting much out of him.
