New York Jets 17, Carolina Panthers 6
The Carolina Panthers played a pathetic football game yesterday, period! Jake Delhomme reverted back to the player that really stunk earlier this year as he completed 14 of 34 passes for 130 yards with 0 TD passes and 4 INTs (one was returned 67 yards for a TD by Darrelle Revis of the Jets). DeAngelo Williams led the way on the ground for the Panthers with 40 yards rushing on 16 carries (2.5 ypc) and he also caught 4 passes for 10 yards (2.5 avg). James Stewart pitched in with 35 yards rushing on 9 carries (3.9 ypc). TE Dante Rosario led the way in the passing game with 4 catches for 62 yards (15.5 avg). The Panthers finished up with 176 total yards on offense (75 rushing, 101 passing) in this game as they only had possession of the ball for 26:42.
The defense really kept the Panthers in this game. LB Jon Beason had a monster game for the Panthers last night with 17 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss and 1 fumble recovery. Fellow LB James Anderson also had a solid game with 10 tackles including 1 tackle for a loss. CB Richard Marshall also had a solid game with 8 tackles and 1 fumble recovery. The Jets finished up with 283 total yards on offense (139 rushing, 144 passing) in this game. The Panthers are now 4-7 on the year.
