The Panthers have signed 26-year old WR Wallace Wright who is a great special teams player.  Wright played in all 16 games for the Jets last season in which he caught 2 passes for 21 yards (10.5 avg) and he made 23 tackles.  Wright has now played in 32 games in his 4-year NFL career and he has caught 8 passes for 108 yards (13.5 avg).  He has also returned 2 kickoffs for 31 yards (15.5 avg) and he has 66 tackles in his career.  I like this move for the Panthers as Wright will definitely help the special teams in 2010.

The Panthers have signed 26-year old DT Ed Johnson.  Johnson played in 4 games for the Colts last season and he made 11 tackles including one tackle for a loss.  He has now played in 21 games in his NFL career and he has made 59 tackles, 1 sack and he has forced 1 fumble.  This was a good signing for the Panthers because Johnson is a solid player when healthy and focused.

The Panthers have signed 27-year old OT Rob Petitti.  Petitti has not played in a game in the NFL since the 2007 season with the Rams.  He has played in 22 games (17 starts) in his three years in the NFL.  He will likely serve as Geoff Schwartz’ back-up the rest of the year.

The Panthers have signed 24-year old linebacker Quinton Culberson.  Culberson played in 1 game for the Rams earlier this season and he made 1 tackle.  He has now played in 31 games in his three years in the NFL and he has made 75 tackles, defensed 2 passes and he has forced 2 fumbles.  This was nothing more than a depth and special teams signing for the Panthers.

The Panthers have signed 25-year old linebacker Jordan Senn.  Senn played in 2 games for the Colts this year and he had 8 tackles.  He has now played in 17 games in his NFL career and he has made 27 tackles.  Senn could get a lot of action on the defense starting as early as this week against the Jets.
